The Culinary Artist
Ever since graduating as a chef at the age of 16, Yann Bernard Lejard has been sharing his gift with the world. He has worked in Michelin one- , two- and three-star restaurants, as well as for international leading hotels across 18 countries. At Hotel Las Dunas, he was part of the team to achieve the first Michelin Star restaurant hotel in Spain. In Switzerland, he became the finalist for Taittinger Culinary Grand Prix, as well as being ranked by Gault & Millau. He is also an artist, expressing his talents in street art from his early teens. Plates by YBL are unique and different from the usual. His eye for color and his way of drawing sauce on a plate show his signature style and have set about a new wave of plating by chefs all over the world. Presently in the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, and Executive Sous Chef since 2014, he has been recognized as an influencing chef by the culinary world and continues to be invited around the world to share his art of plating and skills.
