BIC CE congratulates HH Shaikh Abdullah, Jordan Lazic for Bahrain1 Racing’s NHRA title success

BIC, Sakhir – Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his deepest congratulations to His Majesty the King’s Personal Representative and Supreme Council for Environment President His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the title success of Bahrain1 Racing in clinching the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) 2024 Pro Mod title.

Shaikh Salman praised Bahrain1 driver Jordan Lazic for securing the championship in this year’s NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series, which was part of the action at the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the US.

It was the season-finale for the Pro Mod category in the US-based drag racing series.

Lazic’s victory was the latest NHRA world title accomplishment for Bahrain1 Racing, owned by HH Shaikh Abdullah. The team also won past Pro Mod championships in back-to-back years in 2019 and 2020.

Shaikh Salman commented: “I offer my congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Abdullah, Lazic, and the entire Bahrain1 Racing crew for securing the 2024 NHRA Pro Mod title in Las Vegas. Winning a championship in the NHRA – against the best drivers and crews in the world of drag racing – is a milestone achievement. It is a testament to the tremendous leadership of HH Shaikh Abdullah and the expertise and dedication of the entire Bahrain1 Racing team.

“Bahrain1 continue to be the standard-bearers in Pro Mod drag racing and their successes further highlight Bahrain motorsport competing at the highest levels. On behalf of Bahrain International Circuit, we join the entire motor racing family of the Kingdom of Bahrain in congratulating HH Shaikh Abdullah and all of Bahrain1 Racing. May this latest achievement continue to lead to many more successes in the future.”

Lazic secured the Pro Mod title after defeating fellow-Bahrain1 racing driver Kris Thorne in the semi-finals. Two other Bahrain1 teammates were in action in Las Vegas, with Khalid Al Balooshi exiting in the opening elimination round and then Lazic defeating Justin Bond in the quarter-finals.
