Artisanal WONDERS

An exquisite collection of Bahrain-inspired clothing, lifestyle items, furniture, and wall art, Tarakeeb presents a convergence of Bahrain’s creative landscape and a confluence of cross-cultural heritage. It embraces Bahrain’s cultural heritage and honors local artists, craftsmen, and weavers.

Pure cotton and pure Alpaca wool are the two first tested yarn that Tarakeeb has worked on. The cotton is sourced from Brazil, Turkey, and India. The Alpaca wool comes from the United Kingdom. The raw material is then curated into a customized color palette and woven in signature checks and stripes, giving each ensemble its own distinct identity and originality.

Tarakeeb is a unique collection inspired by the elegance, purity, and dignity of Bahrain with a semblance of hand techniques that transcend across borders. The elegant collection exemplifies local Bahraini artisans, sustainable produce, and natural fiber. It is a celebration of the weave. It incorporates the fabric weaving technique of Bani Jamra, a small village just off the coast of Manama, Bahrain’s capital. The technique carries a significant piece of the island’s culture, and it has been practiced by generations of local artisans.
It entails interlacing two distinct sets of wool to create a distinctly Bahraini pattern that is both intricately detailed and vibrantly colored.

At the heart of Tarakeeb is a desire to uphold traditional craftsmanship by merging artisanal heritage across borders. Its other mission is social. Through and emphasis on traditional art and design Tarakeeb aims to help preserve the skills and jobs of artisans working through the Middle East and South Asia.

Through Tarakeeb’s rich variety of designs, it strives to familiarize individuals with the history of artisans and their craft working in the region. Generations have passed without many people acknowledging the important work that these craftsmen have done. Tarakeeb aims to preserve and reinstate this dialogue for future generations and across cultures, predominantly in the Middle East, UK, South Asia and Africa.
