A Luxury SUV for EVERY JOURNEY

For more than 25 years, the Cadillac Escalade has been one of the most recognisable SUVs in the world, known for its imposing presence and industry-leading technology. Durrah recently took a closer look at the latest lineup, which extends from traditional V8 models through to fully electric variants, without losing the iconic Escalade identity.

“The Escalade Sport brings a more expressive personality to the lineup, with styling that gives it a noticeably more assertive presence.”

Driving across the Escalade range feels consistently classy and controlled with a clear character that carries through every variant. Safety and driver assistance features support this, while connectivity systems help keep navigation, media, and communication close at hand. HD Surround Vision, Automatic Emergency Braking, and parking assistance features quietly add confidence, especially in tighter city driving and on longer journeys.

Space and practicality are two of the Escalade’s greatest strengths. Seating is generous across all rows, quality materials are used throughout the cabin, and the intuitive layout keeps controls and screens easy to access without taking your eyes off the road.

The tech in this SUV was a clear highlight during our test drive in Dubai. Google Built-In sits at the centre of the infotainment system, bringing navigation and apps together in one place, while the available audio systems add depth and clarity on longer drives. Across the range, the technology feels intuitive to use, with key information presented clearly so drivers can access what they need without distraction. The result is an interior that feels modern and well equipped, without adding unnecessary complexity.

The Escalade Platinum Luxury leans into the classic side of the lineup. Its exterior has a clean, upscale profile, and the interior is thoughtfully put together, with heated, ventilated, and massaging seats. Driven by a 420-horsepower V8, this variant moves with a smooth, deliberate ease the moment you ease into the throttle. What stood out during our test drive was how quiet the cabin is. The usual mix of wind and road noise is so muted that you can stay focused on the drive or enjoy the sound system without anything competing for your attention.

The Escalade Sport brings a more expressive personality to the lineup, with styling that gives it a noticeably more assertive presence. The handling in this variant felt more responsive, delivering a more engaging drive that set it apart from the other trims we tested. The steering is light and precise, and the suspension responds well over uneven surfaces, so the cabin feels settled even when the road doesn’t.

The Escalade-V sits at the top of the V8 lineup, powered by a hand-built supercharged V8 that produces 682 horsepower in V-Mode. It delivers strong acceleration, supported by upgraded suspension and braking systems that give you a clearer sense of control over the power under the bonnet. Inside, the performance-centric cockpit is built for drivers who value quality and control, giving the cabin a more purposeful feel

As Cadillac’s all-electric flagship, the ESCALADE IQ introduces a quieter driving experience. Electric power delivers strong performance in Velocity Max mode, producing up to 750 hp and 1,064 Nm of torque, while the overall drive feels smoother and more seamless. Four-wheel steering helps in tighter streets, and Arrival Mode makes parking this sizable SUV much easier

Inside the IQ, the focus shifts to openness and usability. The cabin layout gives passengers more space to settle in, and the screens and controls are positioned clearly across the front of the interior. Everything feels organised and easy to reach without adding clutter to the space. An available 36-speaker AKG Studio Audio System with Dolby Atmos adds another layer to the experience, delivering impressive sound quality throughout the cabin.

Building on this, the ESCALADE IQL adds additional length to increase rear passenger and luggage space. The result is a more open rear cabin with greater room to move, supported by executive seating, power-assisted doors, and the same technology found across the electric range. The added space is ideal for longer journeys, giving rear passengers more room.
The Escalade lineup has developed to give each model its own direction while still feeling part of the same family. The Platinum Luxury focuses on comfort and refinement, the Sport introduces a more expressive and energetic feel, and the Escalade-V delivers stronger performance.

The all-electric IQ and IQL approach the Escalade from a different angle, but the experience remains familiar. Their quieter, more immediate power delivery changes the way the SUV moves, but the sense of space and the relaxed posture on the road stay firmly in place.

After spending time with the full range in Dubai, what stood out most was how naturally these differences fit together. Each model brings its own character, but they all deliver a driving experience that stays composed no matter the conditions. Whether the power comes from a V8 or an electric motor, every version feels like a continuation of the identity that has shaped the Escalade for over two decades.
