A stenographic collaboration with Studio Mumbai, the traditional game of Snakes and Ladders is magnified into a life-sized construct, reframing the iconic Damier motif through a cultural fusion – transforming the audience and cast into players on a metaphorical stage of possibility.
Against the Centre Pompidou’s striking presence, models traced their path across a wooden stage painted to resemble an oversized version of the Indian board game Snakes and Ladders. The palette draws inspiration from India’s landscapes, reimagining tones with subtle originality. A purple-blue shade stands in for black, light beige supplants camel, and denim emerges in a rich coffee-bean brown-a color that punctuates the collection throughout.
