The Basra Lights Village comprises brilliant lantern replicas of 22 monuments, representing all the different governorates, plus flora and fauna found across the land. The iconic monuments traverse history and time from the ancient gardens of Babylon to modern architectural marvels like the Italian Bridge in Basra. The Village, outlined in the shape of Iraq, is a microcosm of the tourist attractions across Iraq, allowing visitors a virtual tour of the country. A concept realised from the collaboration between Al Seraj Advertising and Pico International Bahrain, the innovative lantern installations have dazzled all visitors since it’s official opening on 2 December.
This Village is the inception part of a bigger public park – the Basra Palm Park, which will feature a full range of facilities, including recreational areas, retail, restaurants and cultural spaces.
