From our arrival, the feeling was one of effortless escape: warm hospitality, nature in every direction and the promise of several days shaped entirely by the rhythms of the island.
Our welcome was smooth and personal, allowing us to settle quickly into the calm that defines Reethi. Lunch at Jumla offered our first taste of the resort’s culinary character, with seasonal dishes spanning international and Mediterranean favorites, Maldivian seafood and Indian cuisine. It was an inviting beginning, relaxed yet generous, and perfectly suited to an afternoon spent taking in the island at leisure.
That evening, Jumla took on a more elemental spirit with the Alifaan experience. Premium cuts and fresh seafood met the heat of the open flame, filling the air with smoky aromas and giving each. dish a bold, beautifully grilled finish. Dining in the Maldives is inseparable from its surroundings, and here the combination of fire, sea air and easy island elegance transformed dinner into a memorable sensory experience.
Mornings began at Jumla, where a hearty breakfast prepared us for time on the water. The lagoon invited us to experience the island from a more exhilarating perspective, whether carving across its glass-clear surface by jet ski or moving at a gentler pace by kayak and stand-up paddleboard. Against brilliant shades of blue, even the most active moments felt connected to the serenity of the setting.
Lunch at Madumaithiri brought us to the chic beach bar beside the adults-only pool. Its menu was made for sunlit island days, from wood-fired pizzas and towering burgers colorful salads and wholesome wraps. The atmosphere was casual, fresh and unhurried, encouraging us to linger before the afternoon gave way to one of the Maldives’ most timeless pleasures.
As golden hour arrived, we stepped aboard a sunset cruise with Aquafanatics. From the water, the island appeared even more secluded as the shifted through warm tones and the horizon seemed to stretch without interruption. Gentle ocean breezes accompanied the changing light, creating a quiet and cinematic interlude. We returned to shore for the Adrift beach barbecue, a private dinner featuring fresh ingredients from land and sea. With the sand beneath us and the ocean close by, it captured the romance of barefoot dining at its most refined.
The following morning began before the island had fully stirred. On the Madumaithiri pool deck, a gentle yoga session with REVIVE Spa & Wellbeing unfolded in the soft light of sunrise. Mindful stretches and calming poses created a restorative start, followed by an Adrift breakfast on the beach. Watching morning arrive over the water while enjoying a specially curated breakfast was an experience of rare simplicity and beauty.
Baa Atoll is celebrated for its marine world, and our guided manta excursion with Aquafanatics brought us closer to that natural wonder. Setting out in search of the Maldives’ graceful marine visitors, we entered a realm defined by clear water, quiet anticipation and the extraordinary biodiversity that makes this part of the archipelago so special. The experience reflected one of Reethi’s greatest strengths: the ease with which adventure and appreciation for nature become. part of the same journey.
Back at the resort, lunch at Kaiyo introduced a vivid change of flavor. Perched at the water’s edge, the restaurant celebrates Asian cuisine through shareable plates of bao buns, spring rolls, satay and sushi, each bringing its own color, texture and spice. The waterside location enhanced the sense of discovery, making the meal feel both vibrant and intimately connected to the destination.
The afternoon belonged to wellbeing at REVIVE Spa & Wellbeing, a sanctuary where tropical tranquility meets considered therapeutic practice. We enjoyed a treatment designed to restore balance and harmony, with the choice between the resort’s signature ritual and a personalized intuitive massage. After days of sea, sunshine and activity, the experience offered a deeper form of relaxation, attentive to both body and mood and inspired by the healing power of nature.
At sunset, we made our way to Atardecer at the westernmost point of the island. Refreshing mocktails and tapas were accompanied by mellow DJ beats as the final light moved across the horizon. It was an elegant transition from day to evening, lively enough to feel celebratory yet perfectly in tune with the island’s unhurried character. A final dinner at Jumla completed the day with another generous selection of fresh, international flavors.
What stayed with us most was the way every element of the visit felt naturally connected. Thrilling moments on the lagoon gave way to peaceful cruises; open-flame dinners were balanced by vibrant Asian plates; sunrise yoga flowed into a morning of marine exploration; and the island’s wild beauty was complemented by intuitive, polished hospitality. NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort allowed us to enjoy the Maldives in many different ways without ever losing the sense of calm that brought us there.
When it was time to leave for Malé, the farewell felt less like an ending than an invitation to return. Reethi had given us adventure, flavor, wellbeing and space to simply pause, all framed by one of the world’s most remarkable island landscapes. It is the kind of place that remains vivid long after departure: the color of the lagoon, the warmth of fire-grilled dining, the stillness of sunrise and the last glow of sunset over the Indian Ocean.
