Empowering the future

Launched in line with the GFH Financial Group’s strong framework for social, environmental responsibility, and governance, the “Nuwah” Foundation rests on three main principles: sustainable impact, cultural legacy, and the encouragement of innovative ideas.

“Nuwah” is committed to nurturing a passionate and inspiring community beyond the classroom, through capacity-building programs, knowledge production, and active community participation. Simultaneously, it supports initiatives that foster creativity for telling inspiring success stories and bolstering a flourishing creative industry in the region. In the realm of youth and sports, “Nuwah” endorses programs that leverage sports as a catalyst for positive impact on the youth in the region.  When it comes to climate and environment, the foundation seeks to implement effective solutions for the challenges posed by climate change, such as renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and public engagement. “Nuwah” Foundation is focused on capacity building programs and strategic investments that deliver tangible and lasting impacts. Its programs and initiatives are categorized into several focus areas, including mental health, the environment, education, sports, the creative industry, and culture, aimed at supporting communities across the Middle East and North Africa.

A flagship project of “Nuwah,” “Nafs” is a mental health care center located in Al Areen. As the first initiative launched under the “Nuwah” banner in Bahrain, “Nafs” concentrates on the comprehensive rehabilitation of individuals facing life stresses and mental health challenges. This state-of-the-art center reflects “Nuwah’s” commitment to both physical and mental health, adopting an all-encompassing approach that addresses the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social facets of life. Various types of mental health care are provided, enabling individuals to achieve optimal recovery and fully participate in life. “Nafs” employs health improvement and specific therapeutic methods, supporting not just the community but also enhancing the medical tourism and physical health sector in Bahrain.

The collaboration between “Nuwah” and Dar Al Alia for Cultural Creativity signals a strong commitment to nurturing new talent. This partnership aims to bridge social gaps that hinge on financial capabilities, ensuring equal success opportunities for all participants. This noble objective exemplifies “Nuwah’s” vision of building a brighter future through education, emphasizing solidarity and social justice in the creative industries, with a focus on filmmaking. Dar Al Alia for Cultural Creativity presents a comprehensive infrastructure for supporting new talents in the creative industries, especially in filmmaking, including a café and restaurant for a comfortable and inspiring environment, an art gallery for showcasing innovative works, a multipurpose hall for creative events and workshops, specialized studios for recording artworks and films, a conference hall for idea and knowledge exchange, and a multimedia library for diverse educational and cultural resources.
